Description This substantial chess set features beautifully crafted Staunton style wooden chess pieces with a clean and elegant Maple and Mahogany chess board. The chess pieces are heavily weighted and are tournament height at 4 inches. Each piece is hand turned and each knight hand carved from graded boxwood. they are wonderful value and very detailed for their price. The European inlaid chess board is approximately 19 inches in width and is made from real wooden veneers of red Mahogany and light Maple. The wood used for the board is sourced from sustainable woods in Europe. Included is a fabric carry bag for the chessmen. Please note that bag colour may vary from photographs. • The chess board in this set has been expertly crafted by Rechapados Ferrer in Spain using precision laser cutting techniques and stunning wooden veneers combined with expert lacquering and finishing. The underside of the board is finished in a satin veneer that is a different colour from the playing surface of the board. The veneers used for the underside may vary in colour from batch to batch.
